Rebecca Green grew up in The Lake District, England, and it was here that she developed her passion for music. Starting Classical Guitar lessons at the age of nine and subsequently Cello lessons at the of ten, she soon began performing all over the North of England and winning numerous awards for her playing. Rebecca has performed twice as a soloist in the lunchtime recitals held in the chaplaincy of Dundee University.

The Nevis String Quartet - Rebecca is the Cellist in The Nevis String Quartet; a lively young Glasgow-based ensemble. They have enjoyed a number of concerts around the United Kingdom since 2005, including the ‘Falkirk Young Artists’ Performing Society’ in 2006 and a mini tour of The Lake District in the summer of 2007, which included recitals in St Mary’s Parish Church, Kirkby Lonsdale and Hawkshead Parish Church.

In September 2007, the Quartet took part in the lunchtime recitals at Dundee University.

In February 2008, the Quartet travelled to The Isle of Arran for their annual concert series.

Rebecca has recently formed a partnership with violinist/violist Heather Macintyre under the name “The Accidental Duo”. They are currently working on repertoire by Beethoven, Hindemith and Rebecca Clarke.


In 2004, Rebecca worked with artistic and musical director, Paddy Cuneen, in his production “Sunburst Finish”. In it, Rebecca played ‘Lika’, the Russian Cellist, and the show performed at The Dundee Rep Theatre and The Tron Theatre in Glasgow.

Recent shows include “Children of Eden” in 2005 and “Calamity Jane” in 2006, both under musical director Andrew Salmond at the Greenock Arts Guild Theatre.


Rebecca has performed in a number of freelance orchestras around the United Kingdom under the baton of Lutz Kohler, Paul Spicer, Ian Jones and Sir Philip Ledger.
